Crafting the Perfect Customer Service CV
1. Start with an Eye-Catching Opening Paragraph
Your opening profile should highlight five specific ways you’ve exceeded customer expectations in the past. Use this section to showcase your ability to enhance customer satisfaction, improve processes, or resolve issues effectively. Look at the customer service job specification, what SPECIFICALLY are they looking for? This is where you highlight that you have these skills, so its the first thing they read.
2. Tailor Your CV to the Job Description
Print out the job description and highlight all the buzzwords. These words indicate what the employer is looking for and should guide how you structure your CV.
- Use the buzzwords naturally in your work experience and personal profile.
- Avoid copying the job description directly—show how your experience aligns with their needs.
3. Demonstrate Knowledge of Customer Experience
Go beyond listing responsibilities. Explain how your contributions improved the overall customer experience. For example, mention how your efforts increased customer satisfaction or engagement.
